John took the wheel as Judas and Glen got out of the car. He looked around, and tried to figure out exactly what everything was. John had never driven before,
but had been in the front seat more than just this time. He had watched Judas driving, just in case he needed to do something like this.

(Prophet) "The finale... No... A finale."
Prophet's voice was low and soft spoken. He tilted his head toward Joseph, and offered a soft smile before patting him on the shoulder once more. Much like he had earlier, that strangle tingling sensation returning. (Prophet) "I am sorry for the burden you must bear. Take care of Prin and Freya here. Your mission has just begun." Cryptic of course. (Prophet) "And you, young lady." His voice directed at Freya. (Prophet) "Consider a different line of work." And just like that, he stepped forth from the vehicle, exitting the same side Dawn and Jack were on. The door closing behind him. The blind Halloweeners began tossing bottles about, blazing flames rose up on the left side of Jack's vehicle (right side of the humvee) and the back of the humvee. Halloweeners screamed as a few were set ablaze. But many continued to shout. Those, who were in the back of the humvee, had their vision and focused their gunfire on the back of the humvee. It may have been armored but it was still a viable threat. Both Judas and Glen would feel the surge of life around them as the flames went up. Fire was an entity of it's own. It had it's own energy, its own life. For them, the fire was a living breathing entity. Miranda and John could feel the overwhelming heat surge into the vehicle from the open door. Fortunately, Serenity could feel nothing as she had already exitted the vehicle by shifting through it and ran onward. John would see the vehicle had three pedals, a wheel, a variety of phallic objects that he had seen Judas grasp, and a bunch of buttons. The blind men hurled the bottle and by pure luck, it sailed past Erin, Slevin, and Ethan. Though, flames sprout up behind them, sealing off an escape in that direction. They could only head back towards Jack's vehicle or forward toward non-blind Halloweeners. Off to the side of Jack's vehicle, they'd see the big man spinning his bo staff around while hovering over a bleeding girl. A familiar woman would run right past and phase through a series or cars beyond Jack's car. She had run out of range as Jack had landed near Dawn. He couldn't go back to where the Halloweeners just were as flames rose all around. The path to the Order vehicle was cut off by similar flames. There was his car, the Halloweeners past the dumpsters or the flaming shop with a small grouping of people. The wound was rather sinister. It was most obviously a clean and calculated shot. Straight through the heart. But there was a catch. It struck the heart at a peculiar angle. Yes, Dawn would bleed out, but the shot was designed to draw out for as along as possible. It was not meant to instantly kill her. Why would a sniper do something like that? (Prophet) "Goodbye Jack. It was an honor to have known you." The voice of the Prophet. Was this the eminent betrayal he had worried over for the past few weeks? Jason had made it over to Zero at the same time as Xiadra and had fawned over the man. Tears ran down his face as he tried to clutch him but Xiadra had brought him to his senses. Serenity had arrived and there was hope his Jason's eyes. Xiadra may have given orders but the man was grief stricken. Zero's blood, literally staining his hands and jacket, he reached over for Serenity. (Jason) "You have to save him! He can't die! You can't let him die!" Ryan, the calmer of the bunch had pulled up along side them, occasionally providing cover fire if any Halloweeners looked their way. The wound Zero had looked serious. Shot through the heart. Straight through. For all intents and purposes, shots like these usually kill. Zero was fortunate that the bullet had not lodged into the heart itself but it was still a mortal wound. Though Serenity would not know it, the wound was identical to Dawn's. Designed in nature for the death to be a slow painful bleed out. She could appreciate it from a medical standpoint but the actual combative purposes for such a wound were beyond her. The Paladin, Ayuban, and Fang, continued to fight toward everyone in the center. The Halloweeners in the back having been cleared, only left those in the front remaining. There were fires all around, and it was utter chaos. There were people dying. It was all so very senseless. |

I wince as the flames burst all around us. It was not one of pain but rather the inexperience with this power. Thankfully
there was no adaptation needed as the flames could be felt and did not effect me.
"Come on Glen I'll guide you until you can see." I begin steering Glen with one hand to the rear of the humvee. With my hand held on him I would help absorb the flame but stay behind him to make it look like he was doing all the work. I pulled my blaster with the free hand and made a few stun shots to the Halloweeners within range that could potentially harm Glen or myself. Once the backside of the humvee was out of harms way I'd move him around to the other side to quell the remaining flames at least until he regained his vision enough to do it on his own. "Jack! Get everyone over here and inside." I motion back to the humvee before squeezing off a few more blasts. |

Tears ran slowly down Dawn's face, eyes still blind as she pressed at the hole. A hole - she was dying, bleeding out. A hole in her heart. How fitting. She
let out a wet gasp, body shaking gently. It hurt. It hurt so bad she could barely think, barely talk.
"J-jack..." She forced out, a few more ragged gasps filling her mouth. Something, anything. She pushed her fingers into the hole. It was not as if more damage could be done - she was dead. She could try, atleast. Rather then die without trying. She could try to save herself, try to use every single ounce of her power to seal the hole that was killing her. To stop the blood from escaping. It hurt so bad, but she was afraid of dying - afraid of dying with things unsaid, with questions unanswered. She could not be faulted for trying and failing when the alternative was just dying. "C-Coe..u.." She whimpered pathetically, focusing hard. |

Despite being blind, Glen could feel almost "see" the fire around him.
"These are my friends..." Glen said calmly as he kept his hands out. Any flame near him would start flowing into his body, mainly through his hands, but they flowed into other areas. He could feel his energy slowly increase as he devoured his 'friends'. He sighed. "When I said I wanted to get out of the humvee, I didn't mean to be lead around like some pet." he said in annoyance. He didn't care if the infamous Jack was there or not, he couldn't see shit yet, and was more enjoying that he got to play with fire a little more. "Oi, Van, want me to throw some of my own flames around to take out these punks? Just point and click if you will." Glen said making a joke about being a sentient flamethrower. But was more on his mind was the hope that if he was able to absorb enough fire his vision would return and he'd start to feel better physically. |

Look out? Raze turned his head just in time to notice a bottle flying past them, and setting a
large area on fire upon impact. Now there were not too many choices about where to go. They could head towards a group of Halloweeners that had not been
affected by the flash of light, but that was probably not the safest idea. The Halloweeners sometimes ignored non-Dragons, but the frenzy they had worked
themselves into gave Raze pause for concern.
The other choice was Jack, and right now he was looking like the better option. Slevin needed medical attention, and they did know a doctor. As for the girl... well, the Dragons might be willing to give her a ride, if Jack was even half as noble as he claimed to be. In truth, the most adverse reaction they were likely to have would be to him. Fuck it. It might end badly for him, but for the sake of his two wards, he'd just have to chance it. Raze suddenly removed his long trenchcoat, along with the holster exposed underneath. "I'd suggest you come with us." He tucked the holster within the black coat, and draped the coat itself over his right arm. "Come on Slevin, we're going to see the Dragons" Grabbing Slevin's hand and placing it on his own shoulder, Raze would act as a guide dog for the blinded man. Hopefully, the fact that they couldn't see his face, along with his slightly altered appearance, would keep him from being identified. "Do me a favor, and don't mention my name to the Dragons. I won't be saying much in their presence, either. Remember that." One last whisper in Slevin's ear, and he began his uncomfortable march toward Jack. |

"Don't talk, Dawn. Save your strength." Jack quickly examines the wound; between his first aid and
anatomy skills, he's at least as good at medicine as a somewhat competent nurse might be. Jeez, right through the heart.
She won't die immediately, but...
If we stitched her up right away and gave her blood, she'd maybe make it, but how the hell is that going to-- That woman just ran past...Serenity!? She's here!? But how!? They were in Zombie District... "Hey, Seren--" Jack starts to say, but by then she is gone, off towards where the light and where a lot of the shouting was coming from. Jack swears that he hears Jason, sounding like something is horribly wrong. Whoever Xiadra had brought in was probably hit, and Serenity was heading to them. She hadn't seen Dawn, and it wasn't registering that the two women had never met. It was so fast Jack almost thought it was a mirage, like when he left that fight with Heartless. There were no more bullets coming at him, yet, but the fire was spreading. One side of escape cut off. "Why do you women always have to come after me. You should have stayed at the Mill, you and Prin and Sila..." Jack locks eyes with Dawn until the sound of someone leaving the car causes him to turn his head. "Proph!? What the fuck are you doing!? There's a sniper! You can't just leave, this whole mission was for your stupid vision! What about Prin and Joe!? If you leave now, don't bother coming back. Was there ever anything at the fucking Junkyard!? If I had a free hand, I'd--" There was more shouting, this time coming from whoever was in the jeep from the sky that had rammed his car and all but finished it off. Jack had been too busy to really pay much attention to that jeep, beyond noting the absurdity of the Halloweeners throwing jeeps from the sky at him. The occupants were about than ten feet from Jack at this point and he heard a few of them shouting his name. Sounds like Judas and Miranda. No way. Serenity I figured just went ghost through the district, easy enough. Hard to bite what you can't touch for a zed, huh? What the hell would they be doing here? Jack's eyes shift. That is Judas, the bastard, with some other guy in his arms. Something's happening to the fire, they're moving it. Some Specialty act the new guy has? Or is that Judas' power, at last? Wait, that's...Miranda, too? That guy in the driver's seat, John from the bar!? Miranda? They're all alive!? Last thing I want is for that pompus Order jerk to brag about having saved his party while mine's all dyin' around me. "JUDAS! MIRANDA! YOU'RE ALIVE!? LOOK OUT, THERE'S A SNIPER!" Jack shouts back, as a warning. The door to the driver's passenger side, where Dawn had exited, had to be open, she didn't close and lock the door when she went out to fight those goons, right? Jack moves to it and looks to see about Prin's position. They have to move her, he just doesn't want to make it worse. "JOE! IF YER ALIVE, WE'RE MOVIN' YESTERDAY!" Jack motions to the van. "Dawn, you have to cover your wounds with your hands, something, slow the bleeding. The jeep has my friends in it. I have to make sure Prin gets there too, try to save up your strength for one last run if you have to. Their jeep can move, and it won't fit everyone. There'll be a girl who has a lot of tentacles inside, but don't be afraid of her. Right now you're scared for your life, you'll need that to live." Jack tucks the bo-staff away and turns so that his body is shielding Dawn from any more sniper fire. He needs his other army free for Prin. Dead or alive, he wasn't leaving her behind. |

Erin flinched as the bottle was thrown over their heads and behind them, creating more fire, chaos, and danger on a street that had once housed her home. A
home that was currently burning away, with her mother inside. Despite the madness of the situation, it wasn't fear Erin felt. Her heart was breaking.
Everything she had known had been taken away from her once when her family had moved to the underground and despite the danger, she had thought the worst was
over. What little she and her family had made for themselves in this dark, dreary place had now been lost. She could only hope things wouldn't get any
worse.
She was fortunate that she had bumped into such a gentleman. He seemed to be her only link to a possible survival. Her only other option would be to stay and wait for her brothers, but the fires and the violent gangs still threatened the area. She would have to come back to them. Though, for all she knew, they were among the bodies lying in the street. No, she had to remain optimistic. They would be fine, and waiting for their sister when it was safe to return. Trying to focus on choosing the safest path, Erin steadied herself on the idea of leaving the area with two strangers. For all she knew, they were taking her out of one danger zone and into another. Whoever 'the Dragons' were, the name didn't inspire a feeling of safety. It could be another gang. However, her options were minimal. The safest path would be to stick close to this man. Erin's faith that there were still kind and good people, even in such a place as the underground, was all that could keep her going. "I so appreciate your hospitality." It was only after speaking did Erin realize that her coughing had abated significantly. But surely, wouldn't she still need some type of medical attention? She didn't suppose there would be a doctor where they were headed. Or, more urgently, a shower. But safety came first. Providing she wasn't being led into more danger, she would have to find some way to show her gratitude. |

John looked around, trying to collect his thoughts. He was probably in the safest location on this battlefield right now, he had a few seconds to think. He put
one hand on on the wheel and one on the phallic object that Judas had been holding most of the time.
He had seen Van move the phalic object after they had parked, so he did that first and was surprised to feel the car start rolling. He slammed his foot down on one of the pedals; he knew the brake was down there. |

Slevin scrambled to stabilize his body's natural horizon indicators as he rubbed his eyes, he wanted to get away, Raze's idea was bad, he pressed his
messed up arm to his neck, grabbing the collar and trying to fuse his hand to it, not the Dragons, no fuck them. He was nothing but their fucking pet, their
god dammed Order given plaything. "NO! I'm not going back! Fuck that man! I don't want to be the Dragon's playtoy
anymore, please!" He said trying to rub he eyes as he tried to fuse his twisted taint into the object around his neck and release it, if he could,
at least he could maybe use the dam thing as a bomb. From what he remembered, the Order was already there, he could blow up the Order assholes and
Xiadra if he could just get the god dammed collar of his neck, or his sight back.

Serenity hadn't even noticed the gun pointed at her at first, it hadn't even crossed her mind that she could be surprising someone. She had been so
focused on Zero... That wasn't to say she didn't notice it at all. She looked up just in time to see the barrel pointing at her for a moment before it
had been lowered and she hurried to continue her work. "Everyone is in the humvee. I'm not even sure how we got
here." She said, her mind racing through everything she would need to fix up this wound. She glanced at Jason for a moment, looking back
down to Zero as she continued her work. "I'm not letting him die. Still, I need better tools and an actual
medical facility to be able to ensure his long term stabilization." She was pretty sure she could temporarily stabilize him there, but she
knew it wouldn't be good for his long term survival.

Freya suddenly froze. The Prophet's words struck a harsh blow. She couldn't see, but she knew...she knew that he
was gone, that her chance was blown. "No, no, don't let him go! I need him!"
Freya exclaimed, reaching out after the Prophet, clutching at empty
air. Slowly bringing her outstretched arm back to herself, she looked down, knowing that the Master would have her killed because of her failure.

Joe looked at Prophet as the man patted him on the shoulder, returning his smile although he wasn't sure why. Wherever the man was concerned, Joe had the
unshakable feeling that deference was required, although he had no idea why. The tingling returned again, and now Joe was having the nagging suspicion that his
sudden evolution in power was not his own doing. Then, just as suddenly, Prophet exited the car. Joe would have stopped anyone else, but he simply let the man
go; again, he didn't know why.
He glanced suspiciously at Freya, and her reaction to Prophet leaving. What was that? But Joe didn't have any more time to think, because he heard Jack shout again. Time to go. He leaned in to the front seat, and curled up and then picked up Prin in his right arm as gently as he could; he wasn't even sure if she was still alive, but he wasn't about to leave her here. Then he turned to the other girl; she was still blind, he couldn't just leave her here. He put a hand gently on her shoulder, and spoke in a clear and even tone. "Look, I don't know who you are, but we're getting out of here. I'm not going to hurt you." Without waiting for any response, he grabbed Freya and slung her over his left shoulder, then kicked open the right door of the car. A second later he was out the door, and he noted Jack hovering over Dawn nearby- blood all over her chest too. There was still fighting going on in front, but behind them it seemed whoever had come to help had cleared out all the Halloweeners. Without really thinking, Joe turned and sprinted for the Order vehicle, trying to stay low while holding Prin and Freya. He could see Xiadra, Ryan, Jason...Serenity? Zero? Familiar faces up ahead, but no time to piece together how they had all arrived in the same place. He just sprinted for them, as fast as his new-and-improved legs would take him. ((OOC: Just to remind everyone, Joe is transformed in to Tyros right now))

"Jack, now! This whole place is going up!" Damn it. What's the hold up? Her? What's her name? We don't have time to carry around fatally

She looked towards the humvee that was quickly becoming surrounded by fire.
"Make him moveable and we'll get you to better equipment." They couldn't put out the fire but if she could just get to them... You'd be stuck just like they might be "I'll be back!" And with that she began climbing the Halloweener blockade of cars. She might not be able to douse their fires but she might just be able to get rid of the causes and get a better idea of Jack and Miranda's situation. |

Judas and Glen had been moving through the flame, Glen being guided by Judas.
Little by little, those blinded by Xiadra would begin to see once more to a degree. It wasn't much but they could finally make out shapes and those shades began to grow shades. It still was not vision per say but a fair sign that they would be able to see once again. The Halloweeners on the north end of the road begin to converge with their semi automatics and hand held explosives. A few take positioning atop the dumpsters and begin firing down on the Humvee and anyone else nearby out in the open. That would include Jack, Dawn, Erin, Ethan, Slevin, Judas, Glen, Joseph, and Freya. To the right of the Humvee and left of Jack's vehicle, a raging inferno had erupted and taken many Halloweeners with it, unfortunately those same flames were literally licking the windows of the two vehicles. Just how long either could stand exposure to extreme heat would be variable. Judas had continued to lead Glen through the who little by little began to absorb them back into his body. At first, after having been so exhausted it was quite refreshing but he could rapidly feeling the growing sensation of what would be a very bad headache. The fact that the burst of light blinded him, only added to the headache factor. Slowly Glen's vision was returning but literally being so close to the flame, the bright illumination it provided didn't help him as much as those who were further away. Men fired down in their general vicinity, their proximity to the flame going noticed. Judas' blaster managed to take down a few but they were still targets. It was becoming obvious to the Halloweeners that they were dealing with Tainted. The flames grew and began to consume what had come to be known as her home. For Erin, things would never be the same. Slevin brought his tainted hand up to his neck and attempted to fuse with the collar. Unsurprising it did not listen. It had better sense of course. His armed seemed to vibrate as if sighing in exasperation. It had known for quite a while about the collar but it had not deemed it worthy of notice or a threat. Thus, it had no reason to react. But now, it seemed to be driving his host to insanity bordering suicide, the arm reacted. Slevin's arm appeared completely normal in size and shape, except for the fact it was now black and semi slimy looking. The slime did not rub off of course and the arm was very solid. Two deft fingers snapped the collar, it falling away to the floor. The collar that had been made to look like a kink bomb was nothing more than a collar with a battery and LED lights. There never was an explosive on his neck and the arm of course knew that. His vision not fully restored, he was able to see just enough to realize, that the self appointed genius had been had. Slevin of course resisted Ethan's pulls toward the Dragon's. It would have been all right to argue had it just
been the two of them but Ethan now had a damsel who was not trying to kill him in distress. Across from them an unblinded Halloweener put them
in their sights and began to let off a full auto spray toward the trio.
The giant Humvee jerked forward into Jack's car at John's ministrations and stopped short. For a moment the Humvee seemed as if it would go backward and stalled out. The heat was rapidly filling the car despite the door being on the opposite end of the fire. Miranda continued to shout out the door as bullets rained down on the vehicle. One Halloweener appeared at the open door but had not opened fire by pure chance. They could not see in the vehicle and he'd have no way to know Miranda was there. She was greeted by a confused Halloweeners with an automatic pointed toward her. Dawn's hand moved over her chest and the flesh sealed itself over. For the time being the blood flow would cease from the front. She still had a hole in her back but one problem at a time. It was difficult to speak and remaining conscious became more and more difficult. Jack had Dawn in one arm haphazardly which would had been uncomfortable in normal circumstances. Fortunately, Dawn was already in a lot of pain and any more would've just blend together. Dawn was jostled as Jack went to the vehicles door only to discover the vehicle had been emptied and Joseph was running off with the two women. Prophet simply stood there, appearing unworried. Time seemed to slow down and Halloweeners seemed to shoot quite around the trio. The old man's words began to reverberate. For a brief moment, there was only Dawn in his arm and the old man speaking. The rest of the world seemed to have faded into gray. (Prophet) "I've tried to advise you quite a while and knowing what is to come, I've debated over these words many times. Jack. This is your life. Life is not war with a target to kill. You're not living. You're just fighting. Continue this path and you will lose those who you love." The massive form of Tyros burst out of the vehicle, having slung both Freya and Prin over his shoulders. It was perhaps not the best method for carrying people or dealing with the injured but he chose to get out of there and get out of there fast. Rapidly he made it to the Order vehicle. Joseph felt an odd sensation that he was doing the right thing but at the same time, there was a strange gnawing, that at any moment, someone would do something very stupid and things would go wrong off course. The image of the old man filled Joseph's mind. The kind smile and a flicker. He had wounded to focus on. Xiadra would see the massive form of Tyros approaching with Prin and an unidentified blue haired woman. The Sanctus Paladin would turn defensively to strike but pause. He recognized Prin and Tryos. Instead he belted out a set of Orders. (Sanctus Paladin) "Ryan guard the vehicle, Fang, Ayuban, hold the perimeter." The mechanical voice droned orders in a practice method before turning his attention to Zero, Jason and Serenity. He was smart enough to figure out she was a doctor of sorts and that Jason had cared for Zero deeply. He also recognized clouded judgment, he had seen it many times on the battle field. (Sanctus Paladin) "Jason! Help the Doctor take Zero into the medical facility in the vehicle." Jason's eyes lit up at the possibility. The vehicle had been stocked with a lot of equipment, there was hope. There had to be. Jason looked to Serenity for direction on moving Zero. The number of Halloweeners were diminishing but the fires continued to rage about. Somewhere. Out there. The sniper was waiting for the right moment to strike. |

John swore loudly as the vehicle's engine died. He turned the keys in the ignition a few times, hoping to make it go. It was getting to hot in here, and he
noticed a Halloweener pointing a gun at Miranda in the rear view mirror. In a fluid motion, John flung a knife at the man's throat, grabbed the door
handle, and yanked it shut. He flicked down what he thought were the automatic locks and began turning the key again, hoping for a response.

Taking it slow into the fire wasn't cutting it. The weeners had recovered and started raining hell down in their general
direction. I instinctively shoved Glen away and further
into the flame to avoid him getting cut down by automatic fire. The result of said action got be clipped a few times before I could follow suit.
"Damn it.... " Having rolled close to Glen and with his assistance the area we were standing was in short time void of fire but there was still plenty around us. I could make out the silhouettes of the men who had jumped up to higher ground through the flames. I grabbed Glens arm and aimed it in their direction. "Fire!" I would guide his hand to hit one of the dumpsters to avoid setting them at least directly on fire. I shot off a short salvo towards the men on the other dumpster. "Stay low and keep doing what your doing. " I say as I duck down behind the flames. As the flames continue to absorb into my body I feel the pressure building up inside. I'll need to release it soon or likely risk what happened a few weeks ago to Glen. |

Jack spots "Tyros" leaving his car with two girls, one he recognizes
as Prin from behind. He'd know her from every angle. Knowing Joseph's
power, he would know that was him and even if not, Tyros is an ally anyway. Mysteries like who the other person
"Tyros" was escaping with would wait. To Jack it was good; one less
thing for him to do, one less person to carry or worry about, for a few seconds at least. He reached into the front passenger's seat to grab Prin's hammer. She wouldn't want to leave it behind, and for now he could use it, in her honor, to survive.
Dawn starts to tend to her own wound, but then the scenery just becomes a blur of gray and sound as Prophet seems to demand that Jack hear his words. The old man's words almost hit like a dagger, slicing to the meat of some matters, matters Jack was both sure and unsure he'd gone over himself. For a man without eyes, Jack seems to wonder if Prophet can see into a soul. "Love is an abstraction. All of life is a fight. At least most of mine. The time when it could have been more is over and done with. Miranda taught me the pain and folly of putting all eggs in that basket. The fight is all I have. It's what has kept me who I am. Where are you going? What is it that is so important, worth all of this carnage, at the Junkyard? Tell me what I need to know." Some of it was defensive, and some was blunt. He didn't know how long Prophet would indulge in "one on one chat" like this. Much of him was a mystery. It was what made the old man so irritating to Jack at times.
